U.S. Government Funded Anti-Trafficking Programs

The United States is combating trafficking in persons (TIP) in a number of ways: including reports, research, and international programs aimed at the prevention of TIP, the protection of victims, and the prosecution of human traffickers. The State Department's annual Trafficking in Persons Report is intended to raise awareness and spur foreign governments to take action to counter all forms of TIP. The report has increasingly focused the efforts of a growing community of nations to share information and to partner in new and important ways.

The U.S. Government's International Anti-Trafficking Programs listing contains brief descriptions of programs supported with funds from the Department of State and U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), Department of Health and Human Services, Department of Homeland Security, Department of Justice, Department of Labor, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), the United Nations, and the White House.

The listing reflects only U.S. Government projects in foreign countries with a significant anti-trafficking component. Research provides much needed information to help the U.S. Government more effectively combat modern-day slavery. Information on recent anti-trafficking research products funded by the Department of State is included here.
