Record of Consultations

U.S.-EU civil aviation negotiations took place in Washington 6-9 February 2007. U.S. Department of Transportation Secretary Mary Peters; European Commission Vice-President and Transport Commissioner Jacques Barrot; and German Federal Minister of Transport, Building and Urban Affairs Wolfgang Tiefensee, acting in his capacity as President of the EU Transport Council, opened this round.

The delegations discussed a number of elements that could enhance the November 2005 texts. Good progress was made, and the two sides will continue their work.

It was agreed that a further round of consultations would take place in Brussels in the week of 26 February 2007.

For the Delegation of the United States:
John Byerly

For the Delegation of the European Community and its Member States:
Daniel Calleja

Signed in Washington on 9 February 2007
