DS Special Agent Honored for Daniel Pearl Murder Investigation

Diplomatic Security Special Agent Randall Bennett received the FBI Director's 12th Annual Award for Excellence in International Terrorist Investigations on October 9, 2003, during a ceremony at FBI headquarters in Washington, DC. The FBI honored Special Agent Bennett for his contribution to the investigation of Daniel Pearl's murder while assigned as regional security officer to the Consulate General in Karachi, Pakistan.
Mariane Pearl, wife of the murdered Wall Street Journal reporter, joined FBI Director Robert Mueller to present the award. Also in attendance was Assistant Secretary for Diplomatic Security, Ambassador Francis X. Taylor.
Special Agent Bennett is currently posted as senior regional security officer at the U.S. Embassy in Madrid.
