Pamela Hyde Smith
Ambassador, Moldova
Term of Appointment: 11/02/2001 to 09/2003

Pamela Hyde Smith was sworn in as Ambassador to Moldova on November 2, 2001.

Ambassador Smith is a career member of the Senior Foreign Service. Prior to becoming U.S. Ambassador to Moldova, she had served as the Public Affairs Officer in London since July 1997. From 1995 to 1997, she served as Director of the Office of Geographic Liaison for the United States Information Agency. She has held a variety of other positions both overseas and in Washington, D.C. including Cultural Affairs Officer in Belgrade and Deputy Chief of USIA's Academic Exchange Program. She is a graduate of Wellesley College.
