Jacquelyn K. Hawkins

With over twenty-five years of experience in data processing and automated systems, Jackie currently serves the United States Department of Agricultureís Food and Nutrition Service (USDA/FNS) as Information Technology Consultant in charge of E-Government initiatives (using technology to make government more responsive and efficient). She has held positions ranging from state agency computer programmer to Software Development Manager for BMC Software, Inc. With an avid interest in education, she has devoted countless volunteer hours to organizations with scholarship objectives and adult literacy programs, as well as served on Advisory Committees to local school boards for the purpose of developing and maintaining specialized magnet schools, particularly in science and technology. She earned her Bachelorís degree in mathematics from the University of Texas (UT) at Austin and also completed a one-year concentrated graduate level program in computer science sponsored by the National Science Foundation and UT. She holds permanent certification from the Institute for Certification of Computing Professionals (ICCP).

Jackie and her husband have three children and reside in Austin, Texas.
