Institute on Biotechnology and the Human Future (IBHF)

The Institute on Biotechnology and the Human Future (IBHF), based in the law school of a technological university (the Illinios Institute of Technology), engages in research and education on the benefits and risks of emerging technology developments while analyzing their ethical, legal, and broader social implications. IBHF draws in the work of academics and civil society leaders in many institutions through its network of fellows and affiliated scholars. Its websites (thehumanfuture.org, nano-and-society.org), research projects, conferences, and publications engage leading individuals from a wide range of cultural and political persuasions.
