During the session on Civil Society and the Democracy Assistance Dialogue (DAD), Secretary Rice praised the role of the Forum for the Future in amplifying the growing calls for reform sweeping the BMENA region. She noted that the role of the DAD is to expand cooperation between governments and civil society and to assure follow-up action. The Foundation for  the Future, announced by the Secretary, will be a concrete way to show that those calls have been heeded. (U.S. Embassy Manama photographer Osama Hasan, Nov. 12,2005)
