Meeting with the Chairman of Turkey's AK Party

President George W. Bush meets with Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Chairman of Turkey's AK Party during National Security Advisor Condoleeza Rice's meeting in the Roosevelt Room, Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2002. Also pictured is Secretary of State Colin Powell. 'We join you, side by side, in your desire to become a member of the European Union. We appreciate your friendship in NATO. You're a strategic ally and friend of the United States, and we look forward to working with you to keep the peace, ' said President Bush during the brief meeting.
