Ambassador Butler: Everything that I and every other person in the embassy do as individuals and as a team makes a substantial difference in the lives of every person in Macedonia.

My task at the American Embassy in Skopje is similar to that of my colleagues in the region, i.e. to contribute to the building of more solid democracies, to uphold shared values of human rights, to open borders to trade and investment, and to impart hope and optimism for a better life for one's children.

Hometown: Waterville, Maine
