Special Briefing on US Assistance to Afghan Refugees

Under Secretary of State for Global Affairs Paula Dobriansky, Administrator of the Agency for International Development Andrew Natsios, and Acting Assistant Secretary for Population, Refugees and Migration Issues Allen Kreczko will brief the press on camera, on the record on the President's announcement of U.S. humanitarian assistance to Afghan refugees. This briefing will take place on Thursday, October 4, in the State Department's Press Briefing Room (room 2009) at 12 noon.

Members of the press who wish to attend this event but who do not have a State Department press building pass should enter through the 23rd Street entrance and allow adequate time to process through security. For admission press attendees must present either (a) a U.S. Government-issued photo media identification card (White House, Foreign Press Center, Congress, or Department of Defense); (b) a media-issued photo identification card; or (c) an official photo identification card (driver's license, passport) accompanied by a letter on media organization letterhead stating that the individual, by name, is a bona fide employee assigned to cover the Department of State.
