Secretary Powell to Deliver Remarks at the USAID's 40th Anniversary

Secretary of State Colin L. Powell, will join the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Administrator Andrew S. Natsios in celebrating USAIDís 40th anniversary, at the Ronald Regan Building Atrium, 1400 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW, Washington, DC, on Friday, November 2, 2001 at 2:30 p.m. Secretary Powell and Administrator Natsios will address agency employees and kick-off USAIDís yearlong celebration of 40 years of providing developmental and humanitarian assistance.

Today, USAID is playing a crucial role in the humanitarian crisis in Central Asia, and continues to be a key player in our nationís foreign policy. Secretary Powell and Administrator Natsios will address these efforts.

This event is open for press coverage. Press set-up will take place from 1:30 Ė 2:30 p.m. Please note, due to increased security screenings at the Ronald Reagan Building, press should be set-up and seated no later than 2:30 p.m. Press should enter at the 14th Street entrance, and must have a photo ID.
