Deputy Secretary Armitage Meeting with Dr. Lambsdorff (Taken Question)

Question: What can you say about Deputy Secretary Armitage's discussions with Dr. Otto Graf Lambsdorff about the German Foundation?

Answer: We are continuing close consultations with Germany on the resolution of outstanding issues regarding the "Remembrance, Responsibility and the Future Foundation" (the "German Foundation").

With regard to Holocaust insurance issues, the United States and Germany encourage all parties to be flexible and to resolve the outstanding claims handling issues so that insurance claims from the Holocaust era can be paid quickly.
