Special Press Briefing on U.S. Aid to Afghanistan

Mr. Bear McConnell, Director of the Central Asia Task Force of the U.S. Agency for International Development, will brief the press today, November 14, on U.S. assistance provided to Afghanistan. This ON THE RECORD/ON CAMERA briefing will begin at 2:00 p.m. and will take place in the State Department's Press Briefing Room, room 2009. Following opening remarks, Mr. McConnell will respond to questions from journalists.

Press who wish to attend this briefing should use the State Department's 23rd Street entrance and must present either (1) a U.S. Government-issued media identification card; (2) a media-issued photo identification card; or (3) a letter on media letterhead stating that the bearer is an employee assigned to cover the State Department, accompanied by a photo identification card (valid driver's license or passport). Attendees should allow adequate time to process through security.
