Briefing on US Humanitarian Assistance and Relief Efforts for Iraq 2:30 p.m., Tuesday, February 25, 2003

USAID Administrator Andrew S. Natsios and USAID staff will hold an on-the-record / off camera briefing on Tuesday, February 25, at 2:30 p.m., in the Department of State Press Briefing Room (2209).

USAID Administrator Andrew Natsios; Bernd McConnell, Director, Office of Foreign Disaster Assistance; Michael Marx, Disaster Assistance Response Team (DART) Leader; and Lauren Landis, Director, Office of Food for Peace, will discuss U.S. humanitarian planning and relief efforts in case of war with Iraq.

Media representatives may cover this briefing upon presentation of one of the following: (1) a US Government-issued identification card (Department of State, White House, Congress, Department of Defense, or Foreign Press Center); (2) a photo ID issued by the employing media organization; or (3) a letter on official letterhead from employing organization verifying their employment as a journalist, accompanied by an official photo ID (valid driver's license or passport).

Media representatives should use the 23rd Street entrance (between D and C Streets) and arrive at least 10 minutes before the briefing start time.
