Secretary of State Colin L. Powell's Travel to Kenya

2003/1057

Secretary of State Colin L. Powell will travel to Kenya on October 21 and 22. During this visit he will meet with senior Kenyan government officials to discuss a variety of bilateral issues, following up on the recent State Visit. Secretary Powell will also engage with the Sudanese parties to encourage progress in the peace process. The success of this process is an important Administration goal.

Following this visit, the Secretary will continue on to Madrid, Spain to lead the U.S. delegation, together with Secretary Snow, to the International Conference for the Reconstruction of Iraq from October 23-24.
