Americans Being Held in Colombia (Taken Question)

2003/1094

Question:   The ELN (National Liberation Army) released several European hostages. Does this have any impact on Americans being held in Colombia by the FARC?

Answer:   We have seen media reports suggesting that Colombia’s National Liberation Army will release its hostages; however, we understand that none have been released at this time. We continue to hold the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (the FARC) responsible for the well being of the three American hostages it presently holds.
