Korea - Deputy Secretary's Meeting with Lee Jong-suk

Deputy Secretary of State Richard A. Armitage met with Republic of Korea Deputy National Security Advisor Lee Jong-suk for 30 minutes on December 9. They discussed issues of mutual interest, including developments related to North Korea.

The Deputy Secretary conveyed the appreciation of the U.S. Government for Korea's support for reconstruction efforts in Iraq and Afghanistan. He also gave his condolences for the deaths of the two Koreans killed while participating in Iraqi reconstruction efforts.
