Iraq: Election Registration (Taken Question)

Question:   How many Iraqis are registered to vote?

Answer:   A final announcement of a voter registration tally would be made by the Independent Electoral Commission of Iraq.

The Commission established a voter registration list of 13.9 million Iraqis for the January 30 election by means of adopting Iraq’s Public Distribution Data Base. Iraqis were then given an opportunity, over the past six weeks, to make corrections to any errors to the list. Tens of thousands have done so. The registration correction period ended today, December 15.
