Status of U.S. Military Base in Kyrgyzstan (Taken Question)

Question:   Has the status of the U.S. military base been raised in recent discussions with members of the Kyrgyz opposition and officials of the new government? Has the continued presence of the base been called into question?

Answer:   The coalition airbase at Manas continues to provide coalition air support for Afghanistan. We have received assurances there will be no change in the status of the base.
