Ambassador Carlos Pascual, Coordinator for Reconstruction and Stabilization to Brief the Press on the Presidential Directive to Improve Management of U.S. Efforts for Reconstruction and Stabilization

Ambassador Carlos Pascual, Coordinator for Reconstruction and Stabilization will brief the press on the signing of a Presidential Directive to improve management of U.S. efforts for reconstruction and stabilization on Wednesday, December 14, 2005 at 2:15 p.m. in the State Department Press Briefing Room. This briefing is ON-THE-RECORD and ON-CAMERA.

President Bush issued a new directive to promote the security of the United States, and empower the Secretary of State to improve coordination, planning, and implementation for reconstruction and stabilization assistance for countries and regions falling into or emerging from conflict.

Media representatives who plan to attend this briefing but do not have a State Department building pass must enter through the 23rd Street entrance of the State Department building by 2:00 p.m.

Attendees must present one of the following press credentials: (1) a U.S. Government-issued identification card (Department of State, White House, Congress, Department of Defense or Foreign Press Center), (2) a media-issued photo identification card, or (3) a letter from their employer on letterhead verifying their employment as a journalist, accompanied by an official photo identification (driverís license or passport).
