Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs Jendayi Frazer and Assistant Secretary of State for International Organization Affairs Kristen Silverberg to Brief on U.S. Efforts in Darfur Assistant Secretary for African Affairs Jendayi Frazer and Assistant Secretary of State for International Organization Affairs Kristen Silverberg will brief the press on the situation in Darfur and U.S. efforts to lead the UN Security Council and to work with the African Union and other nations on a transition of the African Union Mission in Sudan to a UN Mission on Friday, February 3, 2006, at 10:30 a.m. in the State Department Press Briefing Room. This briefing is ON-THE-RECORD and ON-CAMERA.
Media representatives who plan to attend this briefing but do not have a State Department building pass must enter through the 23rd Street entrance of the State Department building by 10:15 a.m.
Attendees must present one of the following press credentials: (1) a U.S. Government-issued identification card (Department of State, White House, Congress, Department of Defense or Foreign Press Center), (2) a media-issued photo identification card, or (3) a letter from their employer on letterhead verifying their employment as a journalist, accompanied by an official photo identification (driver’s license or passport).
