Korea -- Congressional Commission Reuniting Families (Taken Question))

Question: Congressional representatives Mark Kirk and Jim Matheson plan to launch a bipartisan commission to help reunite Korean Americans with family members in North Korea. Is the State Department involved in any way?

Answer: We welcome the establishment of this Congressional Commission, but we are not directly involved in creating it. We support interchanges and reunions for Korean-Americans and their family members.
