Phone Conference of the U.S. National Commission for UNESCO Advisory Committee

The U.S. National Commission for UNESCO will meet by conference call on Monday, January 7, at 11:00 a.m. The meeting of this advisory committee will last until approximately 12:00 p.m., and the call is open to the public.

The U.S. National Commission for UNESCO is chartered under the Federal Advisory Committee Act and provides advice to the Department of State on matters involving the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). The purpose of the teleconference meeting is to consider the recommendations of the Commission’s National Committee for the International Oceanographic Committee (IOC).

The U.S. National Committee for the IOC was asked to provide recommendations on the UNESCO study related to the Future of the IOC. The call will also be an opportunity to provide an update on recent and upcoming UNESCO and U.S. National Commission for UNESCO activities.
