U.S. Congratulates the Kingdom of Bhutan on Historic Elections

On December 31, the people of the Kingdom of Bhutan went to the polls in the first of two rounds of parliamentary elections, the first nation-wide elections in the Kingdom’s history. The United States congratulates the people and Government of Bhutan on undertaking this historic step toward democratic governance and hopes for a smooth elections process in the coming months.
