Secretary Rice to Travel to Europe

Secretary Rice will travel to Paris June 24-25 for meetings with France’s new leadership and for multilateral consultations with international partners working on the humanitarian crisis in Darfur.

The Secretary will meet with French President Sarkozy, Foreign Minister Kouchner and Defense Minister Morin during the visit. While in Paris, she will also meet with Lebanese Prime Minister Siniora. The International Contact Group on Sudan/Darfur will discuss humanitarian and security issues during a conference hosted by Foreign Minister Kouchner June 25.
