Special Briefing on Reconstruction in Anbar, Iraq

On Friday, November 2, at 9 a.m. (EDT), representatives from the Provincial Reconstruction Team in Anbar will brief reporters on reconstruction progress in Iraq. James Soriano, Anbar Provincial Reconstruction Team Leader, and U.S. Marine Corps Brigadier General John Allen, deputy commander of Multi National Force -West, will discuss current activities taking place in Anbar. This on-the-record, off-camera briefing will take place in the State Department’s Press Briefing Room (2209).

Media representatives may attend this briefing upon presentation of the following: (1) a U.S. Government-issued media identification card (Department of State, White House, Congress, Department of Defense, or Foreign Press Center), (2) a media-issued photo identification card, or (3) a letter from their employer on letterhead verifying their employment as a journalist, accompanied by an official photo identification (driver’s license or passport).
