U.S. Diplomacy in the Americas: A Conversation with the Diplomatic Corps

Assistant Secretary of State for Western Hemisphere Affairs Thomas A. Shannon and the U.S. Ambassadors to the nations of the Western Hemisphere will discuss the Administration’s accomplishments and progress in the region as well as the challenges that lie ahead at a public event on Friday, December 5, 2008, 9:00 a.m.–10:30 a.m. The event will be held at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce at 1615 H Street, NW, Washington, DC.

This event is open for press coverage.

Pre-set time for cameras: 8:00 a.m. from the 1615 H Street NW Entrance

Final access for all press: 8:30 a.m. from the 1615 H Street NW Entrance

Media representatives may attend this event upon presentation of the following:

(1) a U.S. government-issued identification card (Department of State, White House, Congress, Department of Defense, or Foreign Press Center); (2) a media-issued photo identification card; or (3) a letter from their employer on letterhead verifying their employment as a journalist, accompanied by an official photo identification (driver’s license or passport).
