U.S. Department of State and U.S. Department of Energy Signing Ceremony To Improve Energy Performance at U.S. Embassies and Consulates Overseas

The Departments of State and Energy will sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to outline a framework for energy cooperation to improve environmental and energy management at U.S. embassies and consulates around the world. Under Secretary of State for Management Patrick Kennedy, Assistant Secretary for Resource Management and Chief Financial Officer Bradford R. Higgins and U.S. Department of Energy’s Acting Assistant Secretary for Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy John Mizroch will jointly sign the MOU on Monday, December 8, at 11:00 a.m. in the Treaty Room of the U.S Department of State.

This event will be open for press coverage.

Pre-set time for cameras: 10:30 a.m. from the 23rd Street Entrance
Final access time for all press: 10:45 a.m. from the 23rd Street Entrance

Media representatives may attend this event upon presentation of one of the following: (1) a U.S. government-issued identification card (State Department, White House, Congress, Defense Department, Foreign Press Center), (2) a media-issued photo identity card, or (3) a letter from their employer on letterhead verifying their employment as a journalist, accompanied by official photo identification (driver’s license or passport).
