We offer our condolences to the families, the Government of Southern Sudan, the Government of Sudan, the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement, and the people of Southern Sudan for the deaths of Minister for SPLA Affairs Dominic Dim Deng, Presidential Advisor for Decentralization Justin Yac Arop, and the more than twenty other persons on board today’s airplane crash.

United States Embassy Khartoum and Consulate Juba staff, as well as representatives from the United Nations Mission in Sudan (UNMIS), are working to assist our Southern Sudanese colleagues during this tragic time and will continue to provide support in the coming days.
