Question Taken at the October 14 Daily Press Briefing

Georgia: Separatist Representatives at Geneva Talks (Taken Question)

Question: Will South Ossetian and Abkhazian delegations attend the talks in Geneva? What is our reaction to the attendance of delegations representing those regions? Will we meet separately with them?

Answer:  We understand representatives of the de facto leaders of the Georgian regions of Abkhazia and South Ossetia may be present in Geneva and may take part in informal discussions outside the plenary. The U.S. does not plan to meet separately with them.
