Remarks after Remarks at the Elliott School of International Relations at George Washington University

Secretary Colin L. Powell
George Washington University
Washington, DC
September 5, 2003

QUESTION: Mr. Secretary, how important are Germany and France for your Iraq policies? How important are Germany and France?

SECRETARY POWELL: All 14 nations are important, including the United States. I will be working with each and every one of them. No one is more important than the other. We will accept the views of all.

QUESTION: Okay.

SECRETARY POWELL: And I'm pleased that both Germany and France, even though they have some reservations, say they want to enter into a positive discussion with us.

Thank you.

QUESTION: What do you think about Russia's reaction this morning, Mr. Secretary?

SECRETARY POWELL: I've seen several Russian reactions.

(Laughter.)

SECRETARY POWELL: Thank you guys.

(Applause.)
