Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice was in New York City to attend the United Nations 61st General Assembly. While in New York, Secretary Rice conducted a number of bilateral and multilateral meetings with her counterparts.

President Bush was in New York September 18-20 to participate in the 61st UNGA. In addition to his many activities in New York, including discussing issues with other world leaders and addressing the Plenary Session of the General Debate of the General Assembly on Sept. 19, the President hosted a meeting of leaders from democratic states and civil society organizations involved in building the institutions of democracy around the world.
